Adrià, Ferran (Common Focus Day - "e-motion" session)

Ferran Adrià, hailed as one of the best chefs in the world tops the European restaurant ranking; his restaurant elBulli has been voted the best in the world five times. Ferran, in partnership with Spanish public broadcaster RTVE has produced “elBulli, The History of a Dream”, an avant-garde series illustrating through an “audiovisual catalogue” the personal and collective experience in the search of creativity.

   

Agaton, Mikael (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

In 1987 Mikael Agaton was hired by Sandell film as production manager and director. In 1989 he made his first science & education production for the NGS. Agaton Film was founded in 1995. He has produced a number of documentaries in the field of medicine, history and education for international television, partly in collaboration with medical photographer Lennart Nilsson.

   

Aksyuta, Yury (Eurovision Entertainment)

Yury Aksyuta was director and announcer on USSR Gosteleradio from 1982 to 1990. In 1990 he started working for the first Russian music radio station and became its programming director. In 2001 he became producer of Europe Plus and from 2002 to 2003 was producer of "Hit FM" radio. Since 2003 he has been director of music programming for Channel One Russia. He has produced a variety of shows including Star Academy, Old (and New) Songs about the Eternal, Golden Gramophone, Five Stars, Play, Harmonica! and Two Stars. Since 2004 he has been head of the Russian Delegation for the Eurovision Song Contest.

   

Amoutzias, Stavros (EBUconnect)

Stavros Amoutzias, born in Greece in 1976. He studied graphic-design, animations and media-design at the “Willem de Kooning Academie” in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. In 2001, during the end of his studies, he started working at the ZDF Marketing/Corporate Design department as a onair-designer. His focus today lies mainly on television set-developement and strategic design.

   

Atkin, Mark (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Mark Atkin is a director of Crossover Labs, the Head of the Documentary Campus Masterschool, Markerplace consultant to the Australian International Documentary Conference and an executive producer. Until the end of 2008, he was Commissioning Editor for SBS TV and on-line commissioning, co-producing and acquiring for TV and on-line, across all genres, for SBS Australia, the world’s most diverse public broadcaster.

   

Axel, Arnö (EBU TV Assembly)

Axel Arnö is Chair of the Eurovision Documentary Group and has been a commissioning editor at Sveriges Television (SVT) since 1996. He was the editor of SVT’s flagship current affairs magazine Striptease and later created and managed the investigative documentary strand “Dokument inifrån”. He has commissioned numerous awardwinning domestic and international co-productions such as “Why we Fight”, “The Beautiful Game” and “The Road to Europe”.

   

Bamas, Antoine (Common Focus Day - Proud to Present "Science" + Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Antoine Bamas has produced TV documentaries for the last fifteen years, mostly in the scientific exploration field, in coproduction or association with French broadcasters (France 2, France 3, Canal Plus, France 5, ARTE), as well as with broadcasters such as Discovery Channel, WGBH NOVA, NHK (Japan). He joined Camera Lucida in 2007. Created in 1995, Camera Lucida produces each year between 40 and 50 hours of documentary programmes. www.cameralucida.fr

Baron, Stefan (Eurovision Fiction)

Stefan Baron was a TV drama and film producer for theatrical release from 1990 to 1997. From 1998 to 2000 he was Deputy Head of Drama in Stockholm. He has been Head of Acquisitions, Deputy Director of Programmes and Commissioning Editor for Sports and Entertainment at SVT and is currently Head of Drama in Stockholm. www.svt.se

   

Berthet, Philippe (Eurovision Fiction)

After a career as cultural coordinator (1970-1984), Philippe Berthet joined the Télévision Suisse Romande, initially as head of Acquisitions & Fiction (1984-1994) before becoming head of the Fiction Production Unit, the position he holds today.

   

Beyer, Axel (Eurovision Entertainment)

Axel Beyer started his career as an actor, director and member of the theatre management in Dortmund. During his career he has been entertainment producer, first producer and head of entertainment at WDR as well as head of entertainment at SFB and ZDF. He has also been head of programmes at Endemol and first producer for Kirch Media Ent. and CEO for Prima Idee. He is currently head of entertainment at WDR on a consultancy basis as well as a professor of media and economics at Fresenius university in Köln.

   

Bierman, Ruurd (Common Focus Day - "Proud to Present" moderator + EBU TV Assembly)

Ruurd has become a long-time key member of Eurovision TV’s work. He took up the position of Chairman of the EBU TV Committee in 2009. Prior to that, he was the first Chairman of the Eurovision Song Contest Reference Group from 1998-2009. Since 2003 he has been one of the three Board Members of the Netherlands Public Service Broadcaster, NPO. This Board is responsible for strategy, programming and financing. Ruurd is in charge of the programming of TV, radio and new media. From 1992-2003 he was Project Manager of NOS, Deputy Managing Director of NOS Television and Managing Director of NOS Radio and Television. NOS produces all the news, sports and special events programmes on the Dutch public channels (radio, TV, teletext and new media).

   

Bloch, Martin (Eurovision Creative Forum)

Martin Bloch was an editor, presenter and producer at SF Schweizer Fernsehen, Zurich from 2001 to 2007. Since 2007 he has been a producer in programme development in the departments of arts and light entertainment. He obtained a degree in journalism, media research, sociology and criminology from Zurich university. www.sf.tv

   

Blok, Marina (Eurovision Fiction)

Marina Blok has been Head of of NPS Television Fiction Department 2000. Previously she worked as a Script Editor for NOS/NPS. She initiated and coordinated One Night Stand (8 x 50’) and Kort! (10 x 10’), two annual film projects for young film talent. She is also responsible for the coproduction of quality drama series and (arthouse) feature films (recently, Dunya & Desie, and Iep) which were recently screened at the Berlin Film Festival.

   

Booth, Jim (EBUconnect)

Jim Booth is the Creative Director of RTÉ, the Irish National Broadcaster and movies are the love of his life. He is very proud to be working for a company that places home production before profit. He is also Chair of Promax/BDA Europe 2007. Mr. Booth commutes weekly between the UK and Ireland, and considers Dublin Airport his second home.

   

Boyd, Frank (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Frank Boyd is the creative director of Crossover. He worked at the BBC as Director of Creative Development, where he directed a series of development labs for interactive television, broadband and cross-platform production. He designed events, seminars and labs for clients in the public and private sectors and ran Innovation Labs for the BBC before setting up Crossover with Mark Atkin and Heather Croall.

   

Bry, Nicolas (Eurovision iTV, Crossmedia & Mobile content)

Immersed in digital services since its beginnings, Nicolas worked at SFR Cegetel as Marketing Manager, and at Club-Internet as Chief Marketing Officer. Now working at Orange Vallée, a new entity dedicated to rapid innovation, he heads Television activities. Nicolas holds a master degree in telecommunications from Supelec, and an Executive Master from HEC. www.transmedialab.org

   

Byrne, Donna (EBUconnect)

Donna Byrne is Deputy Head of Promotions at RTÉ. Captivated by the bright lights and great shops of London, she spent 8 years commuting from her home in Dublin to work for numerous UK Channels. She returned to her Irish roots, and the Irish rain, 10 years ago. RTÉ has been her creative home ever since.

Callay, Alexandre (Eurovision Children & Youth)

Born in 1969, Alexandre Callay obtained a Master in advanced studies in Marketing and Strategy and a Master of Science in Business Administration from Paris Dauphine University. He has wide experience in development and management within market research companies, as well as an Asia-focused international background: Nielsen Media Research (2004-2006), NFO Indonésie (2002-2003), TNS Vietnam (1999-2001). Alexandre Callay began his career in 1995 as an analyst at Médiamétrie's International Department and returned in 2006 to become its Director.

   

Cassi, Amandine (Eurovision Children & Youth)

Amandine Cassi graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de Gestion et Commerce International de Paris (International Sales and Management Paris Institute). She is Head of Research at Eurodata TV Worldwide and is in charge of TV programme international monitoring and supervisor of NOTA service, a permanent detection and monitoring of new programmes systems. After conducting a lot of research on this topic, she is now a renowned expert in the formats and programmes market.

   

Charneski, Jayne (Eurovision Children & Youth)

Jayne Charneski is a recognized expert on consumer culture and youth trends. She’s been quoted in numerous publications including the New York Times, USA Today, and has appeared on CNN. Currently Managing Director of Consumer Insights at the Intelligence Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of CREATIVE ARTISTS AGENCY (CAA), Charneski consults world-renown talent and corporate entities including Microsoft, BBC, Target and Honda on their brand and consumer strategies.

   

Christians, Ralph (Eurovision Fiction)

Ralph Christians joined the film industry in 1980 as a journalist and produced his first film documentaries for ARD in Germany. In 1984, he set up MAGMA in Germany and Iceland, and worked exclusively as a producer, writer and reporter. In 1994 he set up Magma Ireland, which became the headquarters of all of Magma activities in 1996. Magma produces long running series in animation and live action, feature films, TV movies and light entertainment.

   

Chytroschek, Tristan (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Tristan Chytroschek has worked as a producer and director for the BBC and Channel Four in Great Britain and for Discovery/TLC in the United States. He has lived and worked in London, Los Angeles, Mexico City and Cordoba/Argentina, before he returned to his native Germany. Since 2004 he has been co-owner of the documentary production company a&o buero.

Claes, Peter (EBUconnect)

Peter Claes read applied economics at the Universities of Antwerpand Birmingham and obtained a master degree in media and communication at the University of Ghent. Before joining VRT in 2002 he worked for five years as a Strategic Planner in the advertising agency BBDO for clients such as Orange, Carlsberg and Volvo. At VRT he has always been involved in brand management and has lead several rebranding operations. Since the restructuring of VRT into a cross medial media organisation in 2007 he became Marketing Manager.

   

Cohen, June (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

As Executive Producer of TED Media, June Cohen is responsible for bringing the TED Conference online and increasing its audience from 1000 attendees to 150 million viewers worldwide. In 2006, she launched TEDTalks, the online video series, followed by TED.com in 2007, and the TED Open Translation Project in 2009. She also co-produces and co-hosts the TED Conference. Previously, she was Vice President of Content at HotWired.com, the pioneering website from Wired Magazines. www.ted.com

   

Creely, Marion (Eurovision Children's Documentary Series)

Marion Creely, international award winning documentary maker, has worked in RTÉ since 1984 as a producer/director in features, current affairs and music in single and multi camera format productions. Since 2002 she has specialised in children’s programmes working as Executive Producer of the Eurovision Children’s Documentary Series, leading production teams from over 20 countries from Europe, Africa and the Far East. Under her leadership, the series has won awards at many film festivals, including Prix Jeunesse International and the Japan Prize. Marion is also in demand as a trainer and coach of documentary producers and has given master classes for the EBU, the ABU, CCTV, Zeppelin and RTÉ. She is also sought out as a speaker on child media issues and is chair of NGO Irish Youth Media Development (IYMD) which promotes youth media literacy.

   

Dahl, Claus (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Claus Dahl is a journalist with an exam from the Danish School of Journalism in 1997. He has been working with various television formats for the past 12 years ranging from documentaries and news to strict conceptual formats within reality-TV and quiz-shows. For the past 5 years he has worked exclusively for DR-TV.

   

De’Ath, Emma (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Emma De'Ath is a Commissioning Executive at the BBC. She commissions content on behalf of The Open University's Partnership with the BBC across many BBC Channels and platforms in the area of Education, Languages, Health, Social Science, Business and Law. Her background is as an award-winning programme maker with over 20 years experience of working in factual television. Recents projects include The Virtual Revolution, Berlin & Syrian School.

   

De Geest, Mark (Eurovision Fiction)

Mark De Geest has worked as a director for VRT since the mid ‘70’s, firstly for the Open University, and then for Arts & Culture. Later on he worked for the drama department. He co-directed the drama series "Stille Waters" (Silent Waters), winner of the Prix Italia 2003 and acted as Head of Drama for several years. He currently is working as project manager for VRT’s cross media project “2014-18 The Great War-100 Years Later".

Dehner, Linde (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Linde Dehner started working for ZDF/ARTE in 1999 in the area of "theme evenings". Since 2005 she has been responsible for documentaries and factual series in the culture and science department. She has already commissioned more than 200 different programmes. She is currently coordinating the nTrade for Eurovision project, which supports European feature films on European public TV.

   

Deltenre, Ingrid (Common Focus Day - Opening Keynote + EBU TV Assembly)

Ingrid Deltenre took up the position of EBU Director General on 1 January 2010. Prior to joining the EBU, Ingrid Deltenre was CEO of Schweizer Fernsehen (SF), the leading public TV broadcaster in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. During her tenure there, she launched a strategy review which led to a new positioning of each channel, each targeting specific audience with appropriate programmes. She also succeeded in positioning the company in the new media world, developing and implementing a sound and focused multiplatform-strategy for the television channels, the website, and other distribution platforms. From 1999-2004 she was CEO of Publisuisse, the commercial unit of SRG-SSR. She also held the position of Chief Marketing Officer and Member of the Executive Committee Switzerland at Swisscard AECS (1998-1999). From 1991 to 1998 she worked for CASH Switzerland's leading business weekly, initially as Project Manager, then as Head of Marketing and ultimately as Managing Director where her major success was to make CASH the number one business weekly in terms of readership and advertisement revenues. Ingrid Deltenre is a Dutch and Swiss national and speaks Dutch, German, English and French.

   

Dena, Christy (TEDxTransmedia - Eurovision iTV, Crossmedia & Mobile content)

Christy Dena is the director of Universe Creation 101 (www.universecreation101.com), where she consults on strategy and design of transmedia projects to agencies, corporations and production companies. She has worked as a consultant, educator, mentor and judge of large- and small-scale transmedia projects in Australia and internationally. She has worked for years as an advisor and presenter and mentor on their Story of the Future initiative. De Tender, Jean Philip (Common Focus Day - "e-motion" session)

Jean Philip De Tender has been General Manager of één, VRT’s main television channel, since 2007 and previously worked for the channel as an advisor, and as a programme and content manager for several years. Jean Philip began his media career in the 1980s as a radio and television reporter and steadily grew to become one of VRT’s key position-holders.

   

Dinehart, Stephen (TEDxTransmedia - Eurovision iTV, Crossmedia & Mobile content)

Stephen E. Dinehart is a transmedia designer, writer, artist, teacher and interactive narrative design specialist. His career path has focused on a multimedia spectrum of art, design and new media development; working at studios ranging from Electronic Arts to Saatchi & Saatchi. El Monery, Shafky (Eurovision Creative Forum)

In 1994 Shafky El Monery studied media at Black College in London. She was a presentator for more than 20 years on live talk shows, VIP interviews, live entertainment shows, and covered live events locally and internationally. She also worked as a producer presenter at the MBC Network in London for 6 years.She was a juror at the 2009 Emmy Awards for the current affairs programmes.

   

Engel, Peter (Eurovision Fiction)

Peter Engel trained and qualified as a journalist from the Danish University of Journalism in 1992. He has worked in radio, television and has produced films for the last 20 years, working at DR, TV2, the Danish Film Institute, Koncern Film/TV, Nordisk Film and Zentropa. Some of his accomplishments have included the TV series “Yallahrup Færgeby” (fiction), “The Red Chapel” (documentary), “Danes for Bush” (documentary) and the films “Aqualorius!” (fiction) and “Big Wash” (animation). www.zentropa.dk

   

Erbes, Christophe (Eurovision Children & Youth)

Christophe Erbes was born in 1963 in Paris and studied mathematics, telecommunications science and economics. After some scientific research in Montreal (Canada), he worked for Canal+ International in Paris. He was then responsible for the kids and short films department at PREMIERE in Hamburg before becoming Head of Programmes at S-RTL/Disney in Cologne. After being Head of Programmes and Deputy Managing Director of NICKELODEON Germany, he was Managing Director at Fox Kids / Jetix in Madrid, London and Munich. He’s now an international media consultant and hosts many festivals and conferences. He’s member of the board of the German kids films support association and studied at the German Kids Media Academy in 08/09. Erikstad, Arild ( Common Focus Day - Proud to Present "Music & Dance" + Eurovision Music & Dance)

Arild has been working within NRK since 1982. He first worked as a producer for Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and host of radio programmes and has also been head of music, chief executive editor and executive producer. More recently he has been responsible for acquisition of music and art programmes. From 1996 – 2007 Arild moderated a Saturday weekly, 2 ½ hour music-evening on NRK2 which included interviews with personalities such as Mariss Jansons, Placido Domingo and Kiri Te Kanawa. As a music producer, he has produced more than 150 CDs with leading Norwegian musicians. He is also president of the Prix Italia and Golden Prague jury.

   

Eveno, Patrick (Eurovision Children & Youth)

Patrick Eveno has been Director of CITIA (organizer of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Market, and Forum Blanc) since 2006, after working as Manager and Producer of the French animation studio Folimage for 17 years. He is also a consultant with CNC, Cartoon and Orange/France Telecom, etc.

Fastenaekels, Filip (Eurovision Fiction)

Filip Fastenaekels is new media producer at VRT. He started his career as a journalist at the public broadcaster. He moved on to many different roles. As media became increasingly digital, Filip started to create the first online websites, news portals, digital television applications, games and virtual world for VRT. Names like vrtnieuws.net, canvas.be, een.be en ketnet.be, start to run are now very familiar to the Flemish audience, and Filip was very influential in their design and production. Fischer, Stefanie (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Stefanie Fischer is a commissioning editor in the Educational Department of WDR and commissions TV and online projects for "Planet School - the interactive gateway for students and teachers" (Planet Schule). Since 2009 she has been in charge of the foreign language programme. She studied film, television, English and communication psychology, has worked as a freelancer and for Hagen University for several years.

   

Fitze, Urs (Eurovision Creative Forum)

Urs Fritz was a director, editor, author and producer at SF Schweizer Fernsehen, Zurich from 1990 to 2005. Since 2005 he has been a programme developer in the departments of arts and light entertainment. He obtained a degree in media and education from Zurich university as well as a masters in cinema from the Sorbonne. www.sf.tv

   

Forsman, Liselott (Eurovision Fiction)

Liselott Forsman has worked with both factual and fictional programmes, both for TV and radio, and in two languages (Finnish and Swedish). She has wide experience of making, presenting and producing youth, culture, drama and crossover programming. Today she is the head of Fiction within the Swedish programming in YLE. Within her multimedia fiction department drama might be combined with culture formats, public happenings and children’s programming
Before taking the chair of the EBU Fiction Group, she was the chairperson of the Northvision Drama Group (the Scandinavian public service collaborative body).

   

Foster, Keith (Eurovision Creative Forum)

Keith Foster has been called the "ambassador of English" in Sweden. A journalist from England, Keith has been making programmes for Swedish radio and television since 1990. In recent years his work has included presenting a boundary-crashing chat show broadcast on both radio and TV. He has travelled the world examining the spread of the English language and hosted Sweden's first language TV quiz show.

   

Franck, Jørgen (Common Focus Day - Host + EBU TV Assembly)

Jørgen Franck, a Danish national, took office as Director ad interim of Eurovision TV on 1 January 2010. Jørgen’s career has followed a double track as he spent two decades as a classical musician, playing the  principal oboe in the Danish Radio Sinfonietta, before he took advantage of his Masters degree in Law to occupy the post as Head of Legal Affairs at the Danish broadcaster DR. He was the CEO of the TV project "Nordmagi" founded by public service broadcasters in four Scandinavian countries to facilitate the production of pan-Nordic programming for children. This multi-facetted knowledge of the public service broadcasting business led to the jump to EBU and Eurovision TV in 2002 as right hand to the EurovisionTV Director.

Fujioka, Hisako (Eurovision Creative Forum)

Hisako Fujioka is Chief Manager of Acquisitions and Business Development, International Business Department, NHK Enterprises, Inc. in charging of acquisition and program development. Prior to 2008, he has worked as news presenter, studied International Law, produced news programmes for NHK and worked as a media consultant.

Ginn, Ian (TEDxTransmedia - Eurovision iTV, Crossmedia & Mobile content)

Ian Ginn is a creative producer, writer and educationalist. His production company Hubbub Media is working with leading producers in Los Angeles and New York. His consultancy company TransmediaLabs engages with clients in media and education, in product development and strategic business research. Ian is currently working with students on innovation projects for a major Dutch magazine publisher and a Dutch broadcaster. He is working with digital media since 1991 he has produced content for leading media in Europe and the U.S.

   

Giussani, Bruno (TEDxTransmedia - Eurovision iTV, Crossmedia & Mobile content)

Bruno Giussani is the European director of the TED Conferences (www.ted.com) and the programmer of TEDGlobal. As a member of TED's senior team, he participates in the definition of the organization's strategy and in the management of its global activities. He is a writer - he has authored several books and his articles have appeared in many media including the New York Times and the Economist and an entrepreneur who has co-founded three Internet companies. He is also a member of the Boards of Tinext, a Swiss software company, and of the Knight Fellowships at Stanford University. www.ted.com

   

Gloor, Thomas (EBUconnect)

Art Director Thomas Gloor has worked in the TV business since 1989. He started his career in Italy at Radio 24, before moving to DRS 3 in Switzerland. Since joining Schweizer Fernsehen in Zurich he has directed a wide range of TV programmes (culture, entertainment, shows, sports) on SF1 and SF2. Eleven years ago he started working as Art Director for the Sports, Culture & Entertainment Department, also at Swiss TV. www.sf.tv

   

Gluckman, Dan (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Dan Gluckman is a multiplatform producer at the BBC. He recently finished producing the online element for "The Virtual Revolution", a 4 part series about the web, the BBC's first 'open source' documentary, and featuring the launch of an interactive 3D Documentary Explorer. Past credits include BAFTA-winning Coast Interactive, Mobisodes for Big Cat Diary, interactive documentary Take One Museum, and a web pilot for user generated local history content. He is currently working on a web product that links BBC TV and radio archive to all the paintings in public ownership in the UK.

   

Gomez, Jeff (TEDxTransmedia - + EBU TV Assembly / Eurovision iTV, Crossmedia & Mobile content / Eurovision Fiction)

Jeff Gomez is the President and CEO of Starlight Runner Entertainment. An expert at transmedia storytelling, Jeff has worked on such blockbuster universes as Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean, Prince of Persia and Tron, Microsoft’s Halo, James Cameron’s Avatar, Hasbro’s Transformers, Mattel’s Hot Wheels and Coca-Cola’s Happiness Factory. Jeff Gomez was also a prominent figure in the adventure game and video game industries, having served as a producer for Acclaim Entertainment’s comic book division. www.starlightrunner.com

   

Gorscak, Natalija (Eurovision Creative Forum)

Natalija Gorscak started her career in radio. After a short career in marketing she went back to media, first working in commercial television, then in public broadcasting where she worked in the entertainment sector as an editor/script writer in the promotion/marketing department. For the last few years she has been working on new projects, such as developing formats for a new digital channel. She is also Member of the EBU Format Core Group.

   

Götz-Sobel, Christiane (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Guérin, Hervé (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Hervé Guérin is a programme adviser for the ‘Science/Health/Environment’ sector at France Télévisions (Nature, Science & Discovery Division). He is a graduate of the IDHEC (Institute for Advanced Cinematographic Studies). Previously he was a manager in the Programme Department at France Régions 3, then a freelance writer–producer, before joining La Cinquième in 1994 which later became France 5. In 2008 he won the Prix Hubert Curien. This prize is awarded to a professional who has played a significant role in popularizing science and technology.

   

Guérin, Jean-Pierre (Eurovision Fiction)

After a few years working as a teacher, Jean-Pierre Guérin became a journalist then Head of Information at TF1. In 1987 he launched the company GMT Productions and became a producer. Over the past 23 years, Jean-Pierre Guérin has turned his company into one of the largest audiovisual production companies. It has produced about 400 TV films and the series Julie Lescaut, Diane femme flic, Boulevard du palais and Famille d’accueil, more than 80 hours of documentaries and three animation series. The films Jean-Pierre Guérin has produced include Monte Cristo, Dans la tête du tueur, Le Grand Charles, Flics, Ali-Baba and Napoléon, one of the largest budget fiction productions and an Emmy prizewinner.

   

Guitart, Teresa (EBUconnect)

For 20 years Teresa has worked in Televisió de Catalunya’s Marketing Department, where she has created and developed Marketing Relationship projects that have been on the air for more than 15 years and that still hold viewers’ interest and are ratings’ successes. She was Marketing Director of TV3 from 2004 to 2009, in charge of the events department and promo unit. She currently directs the Business Development unit, recently created, to develop new programs and programming strategies to strength the positioning of TV3’s four channels in the new DTT entourage.

Häbe, Barbara (Eurovision Fiction)

Barbara Häbe was born in Germany and studied economics and journalism.
She has worked at "La Sept", a French cultural channel in Paris and also in Strasbourg on the development and construction of the new broadcaster ARTE. She has been a buyer and coproducer of short films for ARTE and a commissioning editor of feature films in the cinema and fiction department and has been Deputy Head of ARTE's cinema and fiction department since 2000.

   

Hachmon, Rina (Eurovision Creative Forum)

Rina Hachmon joined Channel 1- Israel Broadcasting Authority in 1974. Since then she has created and produced some major TV programmes and series including "Hanivharin 81", "Mabat Seney", "This is your Life", "Hamofa Hamerkazi" (Independent Day celebration), the Israeli selection for the 2003 and 2007 Eurovision Song Contest and "Kameri 3", a TV series about plays.

   

Hawkes, Simon (EBUconnect)

After graduating in Business Studies from Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1990 Simon spent eighteen unsuccessful months marketing and selling engineering products in Watford. He entered advertising in January 1992 as a television airtime buyer for McCann Erickson. In 1998 he joined the BBC to help launch the joint venture television channels with Flextech as a Media Planner. From January 2000 Simon was a Team Leader, Media Planning, BBC Broadcasting and Presentation leading the Media Planning team on the BBC’s commercial services. At the same time, he was responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating BBC Sport’s on air tri media marketing activity. Since 2003 Simon has been a Group Head for the BBC’s Media Planning department. He has worked across all the television Channels as well as heading up the radio Media Planning.

   

Heidkamp, Bettina (Eurovision Teletext & Subtitling)

Bettina was awarded her master’s degree in Media Studies, English and Modern History from Freie Universität Berlin in 1995. On completion of her professional journalistic training, she worked in journalism/PR and project management for a number of broadcast related EC co-funded projects. Since January 2002 Bettina Heidkamp has been employed by RBB’s Department of Production & Operation to coordinate multimedia research and development in EC projects. To date she has led eight EU projects and is currently coordinating RBB’s activities in various European projects.

   

Heinonen, Jukka (Eurovision Creative Forum)

Jukka Heinonen is an executive producer. His background is investigative journalism and a specialization in factual programming. He is cofounder and Chairman of the Board at Storyhouse, and main creator of TV formats The Happiness Project and Life at Stake, awarded best Finnish reality show of 2007. He also holds a Master in Political Science.

   

Herigstad, Dale (Common Focus Day - "e-motion" session)

Dale Herigstad is an internationally recognized thought leader on the future of media consumption in an interactive and “many-screen” world of increasingly rich media interfaces. With an extensive background in Broadcast Design and branding, he has pioneered a unique spatial context approach to designing advanced navigation systems for Interactive TV and connected screens. Dale was a part of the research team that developed the visionary gestural interfaces that first appeared in the film “Minority Report,” and is now leading development work in the rapidly emerging world of gestural navigation for screens at a distance. Dale has taught Motion Graphics at California Institute of the Arts, Art Center College of Design, and UCLA. He is active with the AFI Digital Content Lab, and is a member of the TV Academy, AIGA, and ITA, and received one of the first ITVT Interactive TV Leadership Awards. Dale has 4 Emmy awards.

   

Hogenboom, Erik (City Folk)

Erik Hogenboom is chief editor of multicultural programmes on NPS. He is also the executive producer of "City Folk", a co-production of the Eurovision Intercultural and Diversity Group, and coordinator of the PRIX EUROPA IRIS, the European media award for multicultural TV programmes. Erik Hogenboom studied Political Science at the University of Nijmegen in The Netherlands. After his graduation he worked for about ten years as a freelance documentary radio maker for several Dutch broadcasting companies, before joining the Netherlands Programme Service (NPS)which is bound by government to allocate a major part of its broadcasting time to multicultural issues.

After graduating in Economics from University College London, Alan joined the world of advertising as Television Buying Director at Ogilvy & Mather, handling negotiation for clients amongst which were, Guinness, Ford and IBM. After twelve years at O&M, Alan joined the BBC in 1998 as its first Head of Media Planning where by deploying the skills from the commercial world, he oversees the use of its promotional inventory across all BBC television Channels, national radio networks and the BBC’s new media output.

   

Jennekens, Frans (Common Focus - Proud to Present "Intercultural" + Eurovision Intercultural and Diversity)

Mr Jennekens is head of diversity at the Dutch public broadcaster NPS (Netherlands Programmes Service). He initiates and organises projects surrounding diversity in the company. He also commissions several programmes on prime time at Dutch television. Jennekens is an award winning creator of radio and television documentaries. He graduated in educational sciences and mass communication.

   

Jensen Peyron, Gunilla (Eurovision Fiction)

Gunilla Jenson Peyron has been a dramaturge and head of opera and dance at SVT's drama department in Stockholm as well as a script expert, screen writer and dance journalist. He has taught at the Stockholm University College of film, radio,TV and theatre and has been a member of the jury at Prix Italia, Dance Screen, Golden Rose, and Emmy Awards. He is an IMZ International Music board member and initiated SVT's annual Halloween dance night.

   

Julienne, Ann (Common Focus - Proud to Present " Documentary" + Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Ann Julienne entered the television industry in 1985 when she joined French indie producer/distributor Télé Images. In 1994, Ann was recruited as a member of the start up team at La Cinquième, France's first public educational and knowledge channel. Now known as France 5, it is one of the five channels of the Groupe France Télévisions which comprises also France 2 and France 3. At France 5 (which is the premier broadcaster of documentaries in the public television arena in France), Ann Julienne was long Head of Acquisitions and International co-productions. In June 2009, Ann Julienne was named Head ofInternational development at France Télévisions.

Kamyk, Robert (Eurovision Music & Dance)

Robert Kamyk (1973) is a musicologist and TV journalist. He obtained his Master of Arts Degree in Musicology from the Warsaw University, writing his thesis on The Polish tradition of performing Chopin’s Ballads. Since 1997 he has been working for the Polish Television. After seven years as a music editor of the Polish Television Channel 2, he joined the newly created cultural channel of the Polish Television – TVP Kultura as the Head of Music Programmes. He is responsible for programming different genres of music, creating and supervising multi-platform major events, initiating new forms of promoting classical music on television. During his work at the Polish Television he has made music documentaries, interviewed most prominent musicians from all over the world, commentated classical music events. Since 2006 Robert Kamyk has been the Vice-President of the Music and Dance Bureau for the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

   

Kneser, Jakob (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

After studying philosophy, history and religious sciences, Jakob Kneser has been working as a director, author and editor. Since 2002 he has made numerous reports, features and documentaries for arts and science television programmes. He has also written and produced various radio features about cultural and scientific topics. Since 2006 he has been concentrating on longer non-fiction television formats. Christian Kohl, born in 1973, studied Graphic Design at the University of Applied Sciences, Mainz, and the University of Plymouth. Anssi Komulainen works as a development executive for the factual programmes department of Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE). Before occupying his current position, he produced educational programmes, directed culture programmes, researched current affairs and presented news. He has also worked as a UNESCO specialist promoting community participation and freedom of media in South-East Asia.

   

Kostadinov, Aleksandar (Eurovision Creative Forum + Eurovision Entertainment)

Aleksandar Kostadinov has been a journalist, commentator, DJ and producer for more than 30 years for various newspapers and on radio and television. He has been commentator and Head of the Eurovision Song Contest Delegation for 17 years and is currently Chairman of the EBU Entertainment Bureau.

   

Kravos, Aleksander (Eurovision Creative Forum)

Aleksander Kravos is a marketing expert, and once worked for Philip Morris International in various sales and marketing positions and as a consultant for various FMCG companies. In 2000, he founded non-governmental organisation Foundation "Z glavo na zabavo" (You can choose, win or lose), one of the most influential and successful Slovenian NGOs, promoting a healthy life style. He specialises in event organisation and media production.

   

Krzemiński, Stanislaw (Common Focus - Proud to Present " Fiction")

Stanislaw Krzeminski is a journalist, director and producer. He was founder of BESTA FILM Group (BESTA FILM, BESTA FILM Ltd., STUDIO BESTA Ltd., TELEMARK Ltd.) and a co-worker for ZDF, TVP and ARTE. He was the creator of various documentary series such as “Wild Siberia”, “Secret Russia”, “The Gold of Tsars” and a TV-soap “The Presbytery” which has been running for 10 years and has broadcasted almost 1500 episodes. He received the European Documentary Award FELIX'96 for a life achievement together with J. Sladkowsk.

Matthijs Leendertse's work focuses mainly on (implications of) ICT-enabled innovation in education and media. He is also a scientific lecturer at Erasmus University, Rotterdam on media trends, strategies, and policy. Currently, he is working on a project on the future of learning for the Institute of Prospective Technology Studies (IPTS), one of the Joint Research Centres of the European Commission.

Stanislas has been multimedia director of "Audiovisuel Extérieur", France (RFI, France 24 and TV5Monde) since January 2009 and head of internet & new media for France 24, since March 2006. Prior to this, he was CEO of Visiware, one of the world's leading TV companies for 6 years. Bettina Lunk studied journalism and communication theory in Hungary and in the United States. She has been distinguished with several student awards and scholarships and has presented her research in mass communication at academic conferences. Lunk first worked at RTLTelevision and later joined the Opinion TV network, where she currently works as the head of international relations.

   

Lythgoe, Nigel (Eurovision Entertainment)

Nigel Lythgoe is the president of 19 Television. He joined the company as chief executive in 2001. Previously he was controller of entertainment and comedy at London Weekend Television. He is one of the U.K.'s most respected TV talents and has a host of major credits, including the U.K. series "Pop Idol," "Gladiators" and six Royal Variety Shows. He co-created and executive-produces the Emmy winning series "So You Think You Can Dance". Maniura, Peter (Eurovision Music & Dance)

Peter Maniura is currently the Head of Television Classical Music and Performance for the BBC. He has over 20 years experience as a director and producer of both documentary and live event programmes and pursues his programme-making alongside his current managerial and strategic commitments at the BBC. Many of his programmes have won major awards, including a BAFTA and an International Emmy in 2006 for “Holocaust: A music memorial film from Auschwitz”, which he produced for BBC TWO.

After two years of medicine, Laurent Mini turned toward mathematics applied to linguistics. In 1989, with Arnaud Hantute and Karim Samaï, he founded the Taxi Vidéo Brousse association, an association that produced and broadcast images from the African rural environment. The association was transformed into a company in 1981 and has since devoted itself to audiovisual production.For almost 20 years it has been producing, more particularly, documentaries for the French and International markets, but also short fiction and live performances. He is also the project leader of "Serious Request", a multimedia event that has been organized for 5 consecutive years in the Netherlands. Belgium joined the project four years ago and last December Sweden and Kenya participated for the second time and Switzerland joined for the first time. Peter Olaf is senior consultant in the commissioning division of DR where he works with strategic projects with an international dimension.

Olrik, Jakob (Eurovision Creative Forum)

Jakob Olrik has been Managing Director for Sexologskolen (School for sexology therapists) and The Cognitive Therapist Education in Copenhagen since 2002. Aside from that he has frequently given speeches and held seminars about sex. Lately he has achieved his own site on DR2 (The Danish National Television Station), where he tell and show Danish men how to become better lovers - and get more and better sex.

   

Orero, Pilar (Eurovision Teletext & Subtitling)

Pilar and Pablo Romero are University Researchers and lecture on audiovisual translation at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and Roehampton University, respectively. They are part of the research group TransMedia Catalonia where they study media accessibilty: from subtitling to audio subtitling and subtitles by respeaking in different applications such as ebooks or live opera and in HDTV or 3DTV.

   

Osborne, Kate (EBUconnect)

A graduate in International Politics and Linguistics from Manchester University Kate got her first job in Media at the media agency Carat working as a TV and Radio planner. After 3 years and many pitches later she joined the media planning unit at the BBC initially as media planer looking after the BBC's sport's activity and later Radio 5 Live the BBC's News and Sports network. In 2009 Kate became a Media Planning Group Head running a team covering the bulk of the BBC's television channels as well as scoping the BBC's future marketing activity across its many digital platforms and assets. Kate maintains her interest in sport by being a keen runner ad well as being a Chelsea fan!

   

Ouazan, Paul (EBUconnect)

Following on from his diploma in cinematography, Paul Ouazan became an assistant producer for various French channels before joining ARTE as a programme producer for the Documentary Unit. After that he designed the weekly magazine programme SNARK on ARTE and became the joint head of the Research Workshop at ARTE France. He has been the writer, co-writer and co-producer of many different programmes.

   

Phillips, Julian (Eurovision iTV, Crossmedia & Mobile content)

Julian Phillips is a multiplatform media professional. He started his career in TV and then moved into the interactive market working for independent production companies, ISP’s, brands and broadcasters including Sky and the BBC.

   

Pitascio, Federica (EBUconnect)

Federica Pitascio, 37, studied International political sciences in Rome and specialized in Business Administration and marketing. She started her career in a multinational company in marketing and promotion department. Since 1999 She’s been working for RAI – the italian public TV and Radio broadcaster – for the third television channel, RAI3. She’s been involved in the field of market research, advertising, licensing, merchandising and promotion: currently she’s responsible for RAI3 multimedia promotion and on screen presentation. www.rai.it.

After postgraduate intercultural studies in Human Resources and Training Management in Paris, she started working for public television end of 1991 with ARTE France, first in the Theme Night Unit, later joining the Specialist Factual Unit as a Senior Commissioning Editor. Since more then fifteen years she has been coproducing regularly international documentaries ( awarded by Prix Europa, Grand Prix Leonardo, Special Jury Price- International Television Science Program Festival, URTI Monte Carlo, …)

   

Richards, Beryl (Eurovision Children's Drama Series)

Beryl has been executive producing the Children’s Drama series for the last six years. She also writes and directs TV drama, specialising in children’s drama and comedy. Beryl has helped create many popular series, for which she has been awarded three BAFTA’s, an RTS, a British Comedy Award, the Prix Jeunesse, and two International EMMY nominations. Her recent credits are My Almost Famous Family, Perfect World and Wild at Heart. Beryl also consults on children’s drama for Kindle Entertainment, Ragdoll Productions and The Foundation/RDF.

John Richmond is International Development Executive and Commissioning Editor at Teachers TV, a UK-government-funded television channel and website offering resources for the professional development of all who work in schools. Teachers TV has been on air and on line since February 2005. John has worked at Channel 4 in the UK, commissioning programmes for school students and in English teaching in the UK, as classroom teacher, adviser, schools inspector and leader of curriculum-development projects.

   

Robbrecht, Geertrui (Common Focus Day - Proud to Present "Children & Youth")

Geertrui Robbrecht is executive producer of inhouse children’s productions at VRT. She is responsible for producing TV and online content for both the pre-school and the children slots. Each year, VRT deals with two inhouse studio productions, one EFP production, a preschool series, an online radio for children and two channel websites.

Anders Rønnow Klarlund is a Danish film director and script writer working for Zentropa Entertainment. Some of his earlier work has included a stage play ("How to Get Rid of Others", a TV series ("TAXA"), a TV movie ("Fusion") as well as two feature films ("The Eighteenth" and "Possessed"). He has also written two novels ("The Devout" and "The Last Good Man").

Njord Røv is project manager for Schrödingers Katt, a prime-time science programme on NRK1. Robert Salvestrin has been in charge of Presales and Coproductions at Gedeon for the last 3 years. Before that he was in charge of the production of short video releases on European research. He has played a major role in finding the prefinancing for science programmes such as "In the Minds of Plants" (2009). Of Italian origin, he was born in Venezuela and has been living in France for 10 years.

   

Sand, Henrik (EBUconnect)

Henrik Sand (42) has been working for 15 years in commercial radio. There, he was active as host to several shows and served as Programme Director. In 2005 he moved to TV 2|DENMARK, where he was appointed as Head of Presentation and Automated Channelbranding. TV 2|DENMARK is a commercial national broadcaster, owned by the Danish Government. Beside the main Chanel, TV 2 broadcast the cable station TV2 ZULU and several others.

   

Sandberg, Christopher (TEDxTransmedia - Eurovision iTV, Crossmedia & Mobile)

Christopher Sandberg is the CEO and founder of the Emmy awarded television and new media production company The company P. He has over a decade of experience in start-ups and as CEO/Executive Producer/Producer in television, online and mobile, ranging from drama to social applications and games. Sarwat Mohamed is a TV director and producer. He was awarded a degree in Mass Communications in 1990. He established Film Maker production house in 1996 and has since produced and directed more than 25 large scale television shows, across pan Arab channels; MBC, Orbit, ETV, ART broadcasting hundreds of TVC's and documentaries. He was awarded with 11 local and international Awards: 3 Golden Awards for the Palace program 2007,2008, 4 IAA Golden Awards1995-1998, 3 El Rameh Golden,Silver Awards in 1999 and Golden Awards 2009 for the El Faez Abi program.

   

Scheepers, Mattijs (Eurovision Fiction)

SKaGeN is a Belgian theatre company, founded in 2000 out of a class that graduated from the renowne Antwerp Conservatory directed by Ivo Van Hove and Dora van der Groen. The group has developed into one of the leading theatre companies of its generation. Mathijs Scheepers is cofounder of SKaGeN, and works as an actor for different theatre compies in Belgium & the Netherlands and acts in drama series for the national and commercial TV stations. www.skagen.be

   

Schneider, Beat (Eurovision Teletext & Subtitling)

Since 2001 Beat Schneider (1960) has been working with SWISS TXT, Swiss Teletext Inc., a subsidiary of Swiss public broadcaster SRG SSR. He started out as head of Human Resources and coordinated the subtitling services at national level. From 2005 to 2006 he headed the project for the creation of four language-regional multimedia centres within SRG SSR. The teletext editorial staffs are now integrated into these multimedia centres. Schneider, Johannes (EBUconnect)

Johannes Schneider is a well known brand strategist with many years of experience with international top-agencies. Educated as a psychologist with majors in market- and advertising-psychology, who collected his professional experience with internationally recognized consumer brands. He developed an expertise in the development and implementation of brand and communication strategies. Before moving to decode, Schneider worked as Planning Director with BBDO in Düsseldorf and had the responsibility for the global account of Braun. Before, he helped to support as Strategic Planner with JWT and Publicis Sasserath in Frankfurt brands from Nestlé, Procter & Gamble and Bongrain. Before his career in advertising, he worked for some years in qualitative field research. Since 2003 he is teaching at the Institute for Psychology at the University of Mainz.

Michaela Seemann has been involved in ORF's Entertainment programmes since 1988. She is the contact person for international production and distribution companies (entertainment formats as well as finished programmes) in international programme markets. Since 1990 Charlotte Sifvert has been working in media and TV production. She has worked with most TV channels in Sweden and also with various independent producers with formats spanning from children’s edutainment to gardening and current affairs. In 2006 she joined UR as a producer of language programmes for both TV and radio.

   

Sipos, Pál (Eurovision Creative Forum)

Dr. Pál Sipos graduated from Eötvös Lorand University, Budapest. He started his career as an assistant professor teaching historical linguistics. In 1985 He started his television career hosting television programmes for the younger audiences. By 1989 he was hosting numerous programmes (documentaries, current affairs) and was producing live broadcasts mostly in the culture, education and arts sector. He is currently head of cultural productions.

   

Sotscheck, Anja (EBUconnect)

Anja Sotscheck studied business economics/marketing at the University of Mainz in Germany. After graduating in Marketing and Public Relations , she joined ZDF in 1998. Since then she is working as a promotion producer and project manager in the On Air-Promotion Department at ZDF.

   

Steiner, Otto (Eurovision Entertainment)

Otto Steiner has been managing director of Constantin Entertainment GmbH since 2003. He started his career as executive producer at Action Games, a subsidiary of Action Times and the Bavaria Film GmbH. He then became head of entertainment at Tresor TV and in 2001 became managing director of Foundation of KirchMedia Entertainment GmbH. He studied documentary film and TV journalism at the University for Film and Television in Munich.

   

Stevens, Anne (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Anne Stevens has experience at national and international level in professional development for teachers. She has written, published and carried out research for a number of national and international bodies. She was the founding Director of Modern Language programmes at the UK Open University. She leads the development of online learning support to accompany a wide range of Open University programmes broadcast on BBC radio and television.

   

Tanaka, Hiroshi (Eurovision iTV, Crossmedia & Mobile content)

Hiroshi is senior producer at the programming department of NHK. He joined NHK in 1988 as a programme director. In 2000 he was closely involved in the launch of NHK's digital satellite broadcasting channel. Since 2006 he has been involved in the launch of a mobile broadcasting service called 1seg for digital broadcasts that will be viewable on cell phones. He is currently involved in developing TV programmes for 1seg.

Thomson, Colette (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Colette is CEO of Footstep Productions which makes a wide variety of TV, audio, video and interactive material for publishers and TV stations. Over the last year Footstep have completed major video productions in France, Germany and the UK. Central to all of them were groups of young people who, in effect, became the hosts of the shows. In France we took the commissioner’s brief and turned it into a language-learning format that has already resulted in a second commission. Within our continuing audio commitments we’ve been working in a wealth of new languages including Polish, Russian, Chinese and Arabic. Fortunately we started with some pre-school dictionaries but we’re working our way through the age ranges! We are also delighted to see that our friends at WDR have been adding lively online material to go with our series “London Files” delivered to them last year.

   

Timmer, Gerard ( Common Focus Day - Proud to Present "Formats")

Gerard Timmer has been a cameraman, news and current affairs and sports production assistant, television producer and executive producer for Veronica Television. In 1997 he set up the public broadcasting station (BNN) for radio, television and the internet for young people. In 2002 he became Director General and Vice Chairman of the general board. He was also a member of the supervisory board of the public broadcasting system and member of the network board of the Dutch Channel 2. Since 2007 he has been Director of television programming at NPO.

   

Tomé, Ricardo ( Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers / Eurovision Creative Forum)

Tomé Ricardo started as a copywriter in advertising and moved to RTP in 2001, working on TV and radio brands and web content. Recently, he has been working in the mobile phone sector (delivery platforms and creating content for shows) as well as with social networks.

   

Trakaliaridis, Panagiotis (Eurovision Creative Forum)

Panagiotis Trakaliaridis has been at ZDF for 13 years and is currently head of strategic programme development within the programme planning department. He represents ZDF in the EBU Format Group and is the contact person for new formats.

Van Den Hoff, Tim (Eurovision iTV, Crossmedia & Mobile content)

Tim has been working in the Internet industry for over 12 years. In his teens, he won the global webdesign contest ThinkQuest'99 and founded his first internet business shortly after. Aged 19 and employing 20 people, he'd already worked for numerous large corporate clients, but had to file for bankruptcy when the internet bubble burst. Recovered from this event, he studied philosophy, launched his second production company and also started working for Dutch public broadcaster VPRO, where he's been involved in the Metropolis crossmedia project since its inception in 2008. www.metropolistv.nl

   

Van Der Goot, Leo (Common Focus Day - "e-motion" session)

Leo van der Goot is an international media consultant. He advises broadcasters in the repositioning and branding of their channels. Leo started his career in Dutch media as a radio host and was responsible for various television productions as director producer for commercial and public broadcasters. As programme director Leo very successfully revamped the RTL channels in the Netherlands.

   

Van Dixhoorn, Lidwien (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Lidwien van Dixhoorn is head of the French language service of RFI where she produces French courses for the radio and Internet in 14 languages. Her last production, Mission Europe, based on a bilingual fiction concept has been recommended by the European Commission. Riitta Vänskä joined Nokia in 1996. She has been key contributor to the launch and development of e- and m-learning. She has been responsible for the New Learning Solution team, mobile learning and mobile collaboration concepts and technologies and Nokia university co-operation. Currently she is responsible for mobile and learning solutions for Nokia's Sustainability Operations team and represents Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks for the South African e-skills council.

   

Vlaar, Marcus (Eurovision Science & Education incl. Language Producers)

Marcus Vlaar is founder and creative director of Ranj Serious Games. Ranj (Sanskrit for entertainment of the mind) is a gamestudio specialised in the design and development of serious games. Ranj applies game technology and game principles to innovate learning, training and communication processes by making them more effective, more efficient and much more fun. Since 1999 Ranj has produced over 300 games, many of them award winning.

Wahl, Tom (EBUconnect)

Tom Wahl, born in 1968, studied sports journalism at the Deutsche Sporthochschule of Cologne in Germany. After graduating he worked in several fields of sports journalism at the NDR and RTL in Germany. He later worked as a promotion producer in various broadcasting companies in Europe. Since October 2008 he works for the On Air Promotion/ Marketing Department at ZDF in Mainz.

   

Waltman, Marc (Eurovision Entertainment)

Marc Waltman is executive producer and editor in chief for the Dutch Public Broadcaster TROS and is responsible for entertainment television shows and drama productions. Since 2005 he has been responsible for format control, format development, production set-up, production coordination and budget control. Before that he worked as a multicam director and project manager of corporate image events. Some his executive producer achievements include a Golden Rose for Ralph Inbar's programme "TV Masqué" in 1991 and a "Beeld en Geluid" Award for "The Most Beautiful Girl in Class" in 2009.

   

Weege, Karl (EBUconnect)

Karl Weege studied music and moved on to become soundmaster at the theatre in Frankfurt/Main (Germany). In 1992 he was hired to help start ARTE, the Franco- German cultural channel as audio designer. He lives and works in Strasburg, France.

   

Werner, Lucille (Common Focus Day - Proud to Present "Entertainment")

In 2001 Lucille Werner signed a three-year contract with the Dutch public broadcaster AVRO. She became well known through the daily game show "Get the Picture". Her first book, "Life Runs like Clockwork" was published in May 2005. In September 2005 Lucille presented the very popular daily game show "Lingo" for TROS Television. She was also the driving force behind the "Mis(s) Disability Contest' broadcast by TROS in May 2006 and June 2007, a internationally-renowned television format. For the last two years, Lucille has hosted "The CAPawards", a live entertainment show about people with a physical handicap who have transformed their disability into success.

Willems, Nicolas (EBU TV Assembly)

Nicolas Willems is an international journalist and commentator on the programme Intermédias at RTBF (Belgium). He won the Bourse René Payot prize in 2002 and has also worked at France Inter, France Culture and Radio Canada. In February 2010 he took part in a project called Huis clos sur le Net [Behind closed doors with the Internet] (RFP – French-speaking public radio stations) shut in with other colleagues for a week with Facebook and Twitter as their only information tools, he was able to gauge the advantages and limits of social networks to the work of a journalist.

Tino Windisch studied Business Economics and Marketing at the University of Mainz in Germany. After graduating, he became Managing Partner of the Casting and Media Agency A&T casting&communication GmbH in Mainz. He later worked as Promotion Producer and Project Manager in the On Air Promotion/ Marketing Department at ZDF. Since May 2008 he has been the Head of the On Air Promotion/ Marketing Department at ZDF in Mainz. Since 2009 he is a member of the EBUconnect Steering Group!

   

Woodmass, Keith (EBUconnect)

Keith is currently Head of On-Air for Pay TV Dutch sports broadcaster – Sport1. He creative directed multi award winning campaigns for America’s biggest sports broadcaster, Fox Sports, and creatively directed the launch of European sports network Sport 1 as well as one of the biggest network launches in US Cable history – Fox Reality. In his career he became winner of 20 worldwide industry awards. With his 26 years of international broadcast experience and 16 years of international promo experience, he made a name as main session speaker at Promax BDA Berlin, Promax BDA Johannesburg & EBUconnect conferences.

   

Wouters, Stef (Eurovision Fiction)

Stef Wouters started in 1989 with a broad range of positions including location hunter , floor manager, director, line producer of several drama series at BRT-BRTN-VRT. His productions include Windkracht 10 (Gail force 10), Stille Waters (Silent waters), Flikken (Cops), and Witse. He worked for an independent production company Skyline Film & Television, Producer: ASPE - VTM drama series 10x90min. He started to write his own concepts (Emperor of Taste 10x50min). After this period he returned to VRT as creative producer fiction & transmedia platforms (Children of Dewindt 62x50min), and became head of fiction. Currently, he is working on new formats for television drama and a transmedia youth channel for VRT focussing on diversity. Besides of this he is working as a freelance creator and consultant under the brand ‘Haptic’ creating your senses.

   

Ylä-Anttila, Ari (Eurovision Creative Forum)

Ari Ylä-Anttila holds a Master of Science in History from Helsinki University. He has worked as a journalist at YLE radio news 1984-1989 and a reporter, sub-editor and presenter of YLE TV1 current affairs 1989-2000. Since then, he has been head of factual programmes (in-house production) 2000-2006 and is currently the Commissioning Editor for YLE TV1 factual programmes.

Zekorn, Stefan (Eurovision Creative Forum)

In 1989 Stefan Zekorn was a reporter and editor for ZDF in the department of Foreign Affairs and European Policy. In 1995 he worked as a reporter and editor at ZDF/3sat on various programmes and formats. Since 2009 he has been editor in chief at ZDF/3sat on a number of programmes such as "Bauerfeind" for "Subkoordination Gesellschaft".
