14.12.2009 Save the Date!
The
4th Eurovision TV Summit will be held in Lucerne, Switzerland, 19- 23
April 2010
The Eurovision TV Summit 2009 proved to be a overwhelming success with attendence figures 25% up on the previous year making a total of nearly 700 decision-makers and contributors to European public service TV present despite the financial downturn.
The Summit is now the reference amongst public services broadcasters as the event "not to be missed" as it is the largest gathering of its kind in the world which provides a unique opportunity and platform to network, discuss ideas and contribute to future programming.

A main feature of the Summit is the Common Focus Day, featuring
“Proud to Present”, a fabulous presentation of clips from the best
programmes in the various television genres from the previous year.
The theme of the Common Focus Day in 2009 was “The
Boundaries of Laughter”, for which a prestigious line-up of
speakers (Dan Mazer, Andrea Olcese, Paul Jackson, Patrick Walker)
engaged in an interesting and amusing debate to see if humour really
can travel. The theme for the 2010 will be announced in January.

The Summit also includes a series of specialized meetings spanning the whole week. At the
Television Assembly, TV experts and programme directors decide
on future cooperation between EBU members. Crossmedia2 highlights
latest developments on new platforms. EBUconnect has developed into a prestigious conference on marketing, branding
and design. The Creative Forum brings new TV formats to
the frontline.
Numerous specific meetings involve experts of Fiction & Drama,
Children & Youth, Entertainment, Music & Dance, Science
& Education, deciding on upcoming coproductions, exchanging
knowledge, and building networks in their respective genres.
We are confident in providing an exciting programme for 2010 so please mark the dates in your diaries.
We look forward to seeing you in the beautiful city of Lucerne in April!
Eurovision TV Media Officer
Karen Mazzoli
