ABOUT THE EUROVISION TV SUMMIT
The Eurovision TV Summit has become the world’s leading event for Public Service Media providing unique opportunities for networking and inspiring informative meetings and conferences.
Now in its fourth edition, the Summit is the reference amongst public service broadcasters as the event “not be missed”. The Summit in 2009 proved to be an overwhelming success with attendance figures 25% up on the previous year making a total of nearly 700 decision-makers and contributors to European public service TV present despite the financial downturn.
Spanning the whole week, the Summit features specialized expert and programme meetings and conferences.

| COMMON FOCUS DAY (Programme) |
A main feature of the Summit is the Common Focus Day where participants who take part in the weeks meetings gather in one place for a world-class conference in the middle of the week. There are two main streams running through the day:
- Proud to Present: An extremely popular part of the day which offers a fabulous presentation of clips from the best programmes in the various television genres from the previous year.
- Conference part of the day which features the “movers and shakers” in the television world on a specific theme. The 2010 theme is e-Motion. Effective television production is the craftsmanship in bringing the desired emotion to the audience. This theme will be explored by a prestigious line-up of speakers from the world of content and cross media.
The “Common Focus Day” has had the honour and pleasure to welcome previous speakers including: director Jean-Claude Carrière, media personality Sir Terry Wogan, composer Ennio Morricone, director Jean-Jacques Annaud, war photographer Phil Bye, cinematographer Billy Williams, YouTube director Patrick Walker and many more. |

The weeks’ schedule is filled with meetings involving experts in all genres deciding on upcoming co-productions, exchanging knowledge and building networks.
- Eurovision Music & Dance Experts’ examine how to make culture available to a broad audience more efficiently.It discusses new and existing international co-productions in the music and dance sector and analyses recent successful programmes in the area of classical music and dance. (Programme)
- Eurovision Intercultural and Diversity Experts’ aim at exchanging the co-productions organized by the group members and updating on current projects and initiatives of members. (Programme)
- Eurovision Entertainment Experts’ gather editors, executives and producers in entertainment, heads of format development and those working in programme planning, sales and acquisition, and music producers and executives. (Programme)
- Eurovision Children & Youth Experts’ has been sharing successful drama and documentary series for more than 40 years, winning numerous prizes worldwide. (Programme)
- Science and Education Experts’ explore ways of “engaging the disengaged” and pitching sessions offer the opportunity to get involved in promising new co-productions. (Programme)
- Fiction Experts’ meet to exchange new ideas and latest trends in drama, share experiences, successes, failures and develop new drama co-productions.
